Put the water, the butter, the salt, the cinnamon stick, the cloves and the peel of a lemon or an orange in a pot.

Let boil for 1-2 minutes.

Remove the seasonings and add flour.

Stir well with a wooden ladle until the mixture does not stick on the sides of the pot.

Remove the pot from the burner and let cool for a while.

Mix again adding the eggs, one by one.

Add baking powder and continue kneading for a while.  

Heat the oil in a low pot on a medium flame. Use a spoon, emerged in water, to pour a small quantity of the dough into the pot.

When brown, remove the sviggoi with a skimmer and put them on a platter.

Sviggoi are served hot with honey, roasted sesame seeds and cinnamon.

sunflower oil (for frying) 

honey, sesame seeds grounded and roasted, cinnamon powder (for serving)
